Enjoy Ljubljana and its splendid surroundings

The Art House apartments are set in Škofljica, in the outskirts of Ljubljana, Slovenia. This puts them in the heart of the great outdoors, but the Slovenian capital’s city center is still just a short, 15-minute drive away. A local bus is also available with a bus stop only a few steps away. Škofljica is also close to Ljubljana’s motorway ring. As we offer free parking, this makes your arrival stress-free and enjoyable.

Where to Find Us

This is Ljubljana

You must have heard of Ljubljana, the green jewel in the very heart of Europe, where romance is taken to the whole new level of ecstasy.

This is a place where you can enjoy beautiful architecture and art from many different eras and styles – just think of Jože Plečnik, the famous architect and designer from the early modernist era. This is a place where you can enjoy authentic food as well first-class wines. Here you can party and meet new people, almost all of them fluent in at least one foreign language.

You can reach downtown Ljubljana on foot or by bicycle, which you can rent at dozens of stations run by the BicikeLJ bike-sharing system. As most of the old town is a pedestrian-only zone, a free electric shuttle is offered to the elderly or those with physical handicaps.

This is Slovenia

Our apartments are located in the perfect spot for daily excursions, particularly if you’re arriving by car. This includes an endless list of places you must have seen in postcards, but maybe didn’t even believe existed in the real world.

  • Lake Bled (about 1 hour by car) with its charming church on an island and the impressive castle towering above on a cliff. Can you pick a spot that beats Bled’s level of romance? We don’t think so. Oh, by the way, if you are getting married, Bled is not just the perfect spot for a proposal – you can get a married there, too!
  • Slovenian Alps (1 – 3 hours by car) you might want to visit some of those icy peaks, and not just look at them eagerly from a distance. The stunning views from those places up there are an experience you will never forget.
  • Postojna Cave (about half an hour by car) is the largest underground cave system open to the public. With its shuttle train, it looks like an amusement park, except that it is very real, indeed.
  • Škocjan Caves (about 1.5 hours by car) are a smaller cave system (no roller coaster here :)) but many visitors prefer them, as the place is more pure and less crowded.
  • Lake Bohinj (about 1.5 hours by car) is another jewel in the Slovenian Alps. Not only you can enjoy its beauty, swim, or row there, but it is also a great starting point to visit the Alpine peaks.
  • Coastal Slovenia (about 2 hours by car) offers everything you expect from the Mediterranean: from old towns and exquisite sea food to pristine beaches and clear water.
